Film Versus Literature

Nicolas Sparks is another author who found success in the same vein as J.K. Rowling. His novels are not for children as they are fictional love stories. Most people can relate on some level to the natural topic of love. Nicolas Sparks tricks the reader into what Sprat says “It is now therefore seasonable for natural knowledge to come forth and to give us the understanding of new virtues.” The reader will come away from novels like The Notebook by Nicolas Sparks or the Harry Potter series misguided into believing they gained some meaningful knowledge. This is the power that Sprat was saying the prose style can have. Basic language is enough to clearly convey any story or message. Texts from J.K Rowling and and Nicolas Sparks are read so widely that they are very powerful in and of themselves.

If you have ever seen a the films about Harry Potter you can confirm that the legend is true. The legend says that the book is always better than the movie. This is especially true when the books were written so many years before. Sometimes the director of the film has a different vision for their work than the previous author and this clash can be deadly. The Notebook by Nicolas Sparks might be one of the few that oppose this position because the movie is the famous one. The book is so low brow that only a romance fiction lover would enjoy it. The movie is very captivating and a high percentage of people will cry when they see the ending.
